Why The Vaccine Mandate Is Bad

I’m sure we have all heard about Biden’s new vaccine mandate on businesses over 100 people and the executive branch of the government. Something else that I’m sure you have heard from this is that most people are disagreeing with this decision, even most of the democrats are disagreeing with it saying mostly that it should be up to the state and even though they agree with continuing to push people to get the vaccine, it is not correct force them to get the vaccine. Governor Hutchinson of Arkansas says, “I fully support continued efforts to increase vaccination rates across our nation, but the federal government mandates on private businesses are not the right answer.” I think that this should and will be considered unconstitutional and should be decided by the state not the federal government. It is completely against what America stands for, freedom. With all of the hate coming from this act I don’t think it will actually come through and go in effect, because I think it will be marked unconstitutional or will be given to each state separately and they will decide based on the states. A quote from a NYT rep. says, "In an infectious disease outbreak, your personal choice ends where my right not to get killed by an infectious disease begins," she said. "We have these collective actions for the good of the community, not the individual." Ok so based on this logic doesn’t that mean that abortion should be illegal, where the choices that you make (abortion), murders a baby and also if this was the argument then shouldn’t this of been in act when COVID was a real issue and not when we have it mostly under control right now. And isn’t it interesting that the Democratic states have more cases than the Republican states, interesting. The argument that can be made is that in most schools around the country they require you to be vaccinated for other diseases, so why not do that for COVID. My answer to that is because one, it’s a free country and just like the FLU shot, I should have the right to take it or not. Two, most people that aren’t getting it don’t want to because they want to wait until they see the late term results of it and because of their religious or other beliefs. And this can be considered infringement on the freedom of religion. Also with the immigration and travel amount in and out of the U.S. mostly probably unvaccinated then how

would this help at all, because most people who are vaccinated still don’t feel safe even though the vaccine is meant to protect you.
